It's all about attention to details at this luxurious duplex apartment in Delhi. With an architectural piece de resistance in the form of a double height area — the apartment is a savvy coming together of minimalism and sumptuous materials. This sybaritic lair echoes the occupants' penchant for Victorian details, simple forms, and relaxed elegance.
Our client, a Delhi based entrepreneur wanted a home that's opulent yet light. His vision was to have a modern retreat with delectable hints of old-world elegance. Architect Mr. Dinesh Chawla of Immaginnations Unleash approached us for our couture-like focus. He wanted us to fashion soft furnishings for the client that were enriched with decadent detailing that blended no-classical with the Victorian stylized.
Our design team worked in conjunction with Mr. Chawla and his team to create sumptuous curtains for all the rooms. Curtains in the living room were a highlight which were designed to complement the arched door and the window that sat above it. Textured satin curtains set off by velvet border overlaid with delicate Zari quilting frame the arched architectural features.
To introduce an organic counterpoint to the structured mix and hold the curtains in place, a customized intricately designed gold leaf brass tieback was used that didn't only suffice for utility but added a chic style and perfect finishing to these luscious curtains. A valance crafted from velvet with tassels was added to complete the look.
Curtains for the Puja room take their inspiration from traditional Kasavu saree from South India. With their gold-soaked borders and soft, regimented organza fall—the curtains inject understated richness to the shrine and add to the meditative vibe of the space.
What we created was a perfect blend of old world charm and modern subtleties, much to the delight of our client.
